New Homes – Cochrane Street

This is an elevated small lot site in central Paddington. The client wanted a modern slant to the traditional Queenslander.  This award winning design is a contemporary home with a traditional exterior with clean lines and high ceilings with large glassed areas.  The design takes advantage of the great city views which are available from all levels.

The site was steep sloping with a narrow frontage. AAD Design‘s experience and expertise with such difficult sites led to a town planning outcome for this site beyond that which would normally be allowed.  These achievements included:

• a three storey building
• a double garage built to the street boundary
• a level lawn and planting area built over the entire garage
• an 18 m long lap pool built on the side boundary
